I just have to let this out…
Ever since I remember, my dad has been selfish asshole who always puts himself before others. He’s always held this hatred towards me for some reason I’m unaware of. He always thinks everyone around him is being lazy and/or unproductive if they’re not working or going to school every minute of their lives. I guess me being a successful college student and part-time employee is not good enough for him and nothing will ever be good enough because he will always think I’m a failure at life or find some flaw or mistake to point out. He particularly likes to pick on my boyfriend of 4 years, who is the most determined person I’ve ever known. He has 2 jobs and works about 60 hours a week and goes to school full-time all while maintaining at least a 3.8 GPA. He pays for his education, car, car insurance, doctor’s bills, food, and everything in between by himself, yet my dad still finds reasons to belittle him. Oh…I think it’s because he doesn’t have his own house yet…because according to my parents 21 year olds should own houses or apartments at this age.
My dad is also extremely computer illiterate. I have a custom case for my desktop computer and he thinks because of its size and because of its LED fan that it takes up way too much power, when I actually have an old motherboard and processor in there from an HP Pavilion. The only advanced hardware I have in there is my video card, and just recently a decent power supply. He also thinks that when I’m on my computer I’m only surfing the internet and using social networks like Facebook, when in reality I’m either doing homework, working in art-related programs, playing video games, or listening to music.
Oh yea, and sorry I enjoy playing video games, it’s one of my favorite hobbies and it’s what I want to do in the future. And it’s already been proven that gamers are more intelligent than people who don’t play video games. Video games require fast and precise decision making and problem solving which therefore stimulates the brain, increases activity, and builds brain cells.
